SYNOPSIS OF MY BOOKS...

 

 

"THE PAIN WITHIN" is about Ellie Barton who was born at the turn of the twentieth century. She came from a happy extended family. Then one day all that changes. One tragedy after another happens to her and her brother Albert. Her father dies in a hunting accident, changing her whole way of life; her mother succumbes to a heart attack while Ellie is still a girl. They are forced to take in boarders to make a living for themselves.

While visiting her Aunt Martha, Ellie meets the black sheep of a rich political family. Harry Wells is very charming and soon they are married. It is a stormy, but passionate relationship. After their two sons are born, Harry starts to lose interest in his family. He stays out late at night, drinking and seeing other women.

After a large fight, Harry leaves and is in a tragic train accident. Ellie tries to pull herself together and be strong for her family.

 

 

        "REMEMBERING SPRING"  is a story of a young woman named Macey Thornton. Macey is happy working in the gift shop that she co-owns with her friend Julie. Macey met Julie while they were in college together.

But something is missing in her life. One day, she takes the parking space of a potential customer that comes into the shop. The customer's name is Scott Hampton and he is not happy with her for making him walk a block to her shop.

Macey cannot seem to get Scott Hampton out of her thoughts and finds him coming back to see her. Macey has no family, but Scott has a brother and sister who he introduces to her. She becomes close with both his sister Sandy and his sister-in-law Lucie. Sandy lives in New York with her boyfriend who is a policeman. Scott's brother Steve, his wife Lucie and their two boys live in Connecticut. Scott works in a lawyer's office and has lots of friends at work.

Macey and Scott have many happy times together with their family, friends and neighbors. The gift shop that Macey and Julie own also has a coffee shop and is in a college town, so her days are filled with students that come into the shop during their breaks at school.

Scott and Macey find love and happiness until a serious illness befalls one of them. Then they learn the true meaning of love.

 

 

"WAITING FOR THE SUNRISE"  tells of the love that survives from childhood for Angie Denning. She has been in love with Glen Ames since they went to school together, but he always seemed to ignore her back then. The day Glen comes home from the Korean War a hero, her feelings for him quickly come back. She doesn't think she can live in the same town as Glen, so decides to move to Portland to live near her married sister Margie, Margie's husband Todd and their daughter Laura.

Over the last few months, she has noticed that a man seems to be following her. She is trying to make a life for herself without Glen when she suddenly comes face to face with the man who has been stalking her. He threatens her and she is terrified. Luckily a friend comes to her rescue.

She manages to call the police and when the doorbell rings, Glen is standing there in his police uniform. She doesn't know what to do. Should she confide in him and bring all those feelings for him back again?
